1) Nal Sarovar

Nal Sarovar is a Bird Sanctuary. It is situated about 64 km to the west of Ahmedabad near Sanand Village. It is the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Ahmedabad – Gujarat, and one of the largest in India.

While you are at Nal Sarovar, you can see flamingos, rosy pelicans,
herons, ducks, geese, ibises and more nomadic species. You can also enjoy other activities like boating, horse riding along the lake at this place.

Best time to visit: Winter and Spring, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Entry fee of Rs. 60/- per visitor
Rs. 100/- for camera.
Nalsarovar Boating charges are Rs. 220/- per person and Rs. 1320/- if you want an individual boat.
Nalsarovar Entry fees also includes vehicle charge to the boating area.

2) Indroda Nature Park

Indroda Nature Park is regarded as India’s Jurassic Park, it is run by the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation (GEER), and is the only dinosaur museum in the country. It’s spread over an area of about 400 hectares on either bank of Sabarmati river in Gandhinagar – capital of the Gujarat.

This is wonderful place near to Ahmedabad city, where you can spend a day with peaceful environment. For kid it is interesting place to visit.

The park consists of a zoo, massive skeletons of sea mammals like the blue whale, as well as a vast botanical garden, amphitheatre, interpretation center and camping facilities.

If you love to photography get ready to carry your DSLR.

It’s also advisable to carry some food and drink with you because it has limited options of food inside and you have to walk long to enjoy the place.

Best time to visit: Jan, Feb, Mar, Oct, Nov, Dec are considered the best time to visit but you can visit any time.

3) Adalaj Ni Vav (Adalaj Stepwell)

Stepwells are a common sight in Gujarat. Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is one of most famous stepwell which is located in the village of Adalaj, close to Ahmedabad city and in Gandhinagar district. It was built in 1498 in the memory of Rana Veer Singh (the Vaghela dynasty of Dandai Des), by his wife Queen Rudadevi.

Adalaj Stepwell is a fine example of Indian architecture work. Due to the way it is built, sunlight is restricted, and hence the inside atmosphere is cooler than the outside. There’s a well-maintained garden outside the stepwell where you can spend some leisure time in the background.
